Veronika's Two Lives  describes the lives of two women who are confusingly similar and who have experienced the same thing since childhood. Weronika  lives in Poland and is a talented singer. He suffers from a serious heart disease, to which he succumbs in his first big concert. Véronique, who lives in France, is also a singer. When he "feels" that something has happened that he cannot say exactly what it is (Weronika's death), he abandons his singing career and only teaches at one school.

There he meets the puppet Alexandre, with whom he falls in love. He is also very interested in Véronique and lures her to a cafe with an audiotape; there he told her that he had only lured her there by a psychological experiment.

Véronique then leaves the cafe, shocked and depressed. Alexandre follows her and finally confesses his love. When she shows him her photos from her trip to Krakow, she discovers a photo of Weronika on her slides. Now he is aware of his double existence.
